The next Apex Legends event is about to get underway and while that might only last for a few weeks, Respawn is bringing back a couple of key features on a permanent basis. The original Kings Canyon map will join the current World's Edge arena on rotation after it recently popped back up for a limited time. Meanwhile, the duos mode that debuted last fall is returning for good alongside the original trios option. They'll both come back on April 7th.
Kris Holt04.02.2020The first 'Apex Legends' map is returning for a weekend-long event
If it's been a while since you played Apex Legends, you may want to take some time to return to the game this weekend. Starting today through to February 24th, Respawn Entertainment is bringing back Kings Canyon, Apex's original map, as part of a separate playlist. Igor Bonifacic02.21.2020'Apex Legends' trailers promise 'Kings Canyon will never be the same' (updated)
Less than a week before the launch of Apex Legends second season, two leaked trailers detail significant changes to the map. We knew the new season would included Wattson, an engineer character who thrives on defensive play, and the trailers provide a glimpse of Wattson in action. There's also hints of a new hacker-themed character, Crypto. Perhaps most importantly, the clip makes one thing clear, "Kings Canyon will never be the same." Certain areas have stabilized enough to support new growth forests, and there are new structures. Plus, the leak indicates that the Leviathans have indeed invaded the map. Update: Both the cinematic and gameplay trailers are now officially live, showing some of the things players can expect to see starting July 2nd. They look just like the leaks, including that peek at the laptop-wielding hacker character, but we'll have to dive in next week to get a feel for exactly what's different about the arena.

Taking a virtual tour of the Amazon or Antarctica? Totally doable with Street View. But some of America's finest National Parks? Yeah, those have been a long time coming. Today, Google announced the inclusion of five California-based US National Parks in Street View, and for those who haven't had the opportunity (of a lifetime) to visit, they're absolutely worth a look. Starting at the top, Redwoods National Park provides a street level look at some of the world's most mysterious trees, while those looking for even more Treebeard-type characters can point their browser to Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks. Naturally, Yosemite and Joshua Tree (shown above) are included as well, and the 360-degree views Google's cadre of motorcars managed to capture really do a fairly astounding job at capturing the splendor. The toughest part? Knowing which one to traverse first.
