New Five Nights at Freddy’s movie trailer shows the murderous animatronics in action
The first trailer for the ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ movie was pretty nifty, but suspiciously light on the game franchise’s renowned murderous animatronics. That issue has been rectified with the latest trailer, as it’s filled with appearances from Foxy, Bonnie, Chica and of course, Freddy himself. The homicidal puppets are doing what they do best, murdering people.

Kris Holt05.17.2023Five Nights At Freddy's will soon terrify you in augmented reality
The Five Nights At Freddy's franchise shows few signs of slowing down after a virtual reality spinoff arrived earlier this year. Next up is an augmented reality mobile game in which, based on the teaser, it seems the series' creepy-as-hell animatronics will chase you around your own home (or anywhere else). That's not at all horrifying.
Kris Holt09.13.2019'Five Nights at Freddy's' is even more creepy in VR
Fans of the venerable horror puzzler Five Nights at Freddy's will have something to scream about as the latest iteration of the series arrives on VR headsets at the end of April. I got to play through a few of the levels at a recent PSVR demo event came away sufficiently jump-scared to want to play the rest of the game as soon as it's released.
Andrew Tarantola03.28.2019Report: Five Nights at Freddy's 3 already in development
It appears that only two months after the launch of Five Nights at Freddy's 2, developer Scott Cawthon is returning to the world of twitchy night watchmen and deadly pizzeria animatronics for Five Nights at Freddy's 3. The photo you see above recently appeared on Cawthon's website under the name "fnaf3.jpg." Viewing this as more than coincidence, PC Gamer attempted to contact Cawthon for some sort of confirmation that Five Nights at Freddy's 3 was in development. While they weren't able to speak to Cawthon directly, he did send over a revealing auto-reply email. "Five Nights at Freddy's 3 is in production," the message stated. "Please do not email me asking any questions about it; NO questions about FNaF3 will be read or answered!" Obviously Cawthon offered no further details on the game, but that does sound like confirmation of its existence. For those unaware, the Five Nights at Freddy's games cast players as a security guard who must survive the night alone in a Chuck E. Cheese-style pizzeria where all the mechanical critters have become murderous. These are simple games, relying on limited movement options and quick reflexes, but they've become beloved among the Let's Play set for their effective jump scares and overwhelming tension. It's been four months since Five Nights At Freddy's reminded us all that animatronic critters are almost certainly murderous, yet developer Scott Cawthon has already released the sequel. According to Cawthon's description of the game on Steam, Five Nights At Freddy's 2 casts players in much the same role they played in the first game, that of a night watchman at a Chuck E. Cheese-esque pizza parlor inhabited by animatronic birds, bears and other animals. As you've suspected since childhood, these robotic entities come to life at night and roam the hallways searching for blood. If they make their way into the security room, your hapless watchman will be brutally killed. The goal of the game, as its title suggests, is to survive five increasingly difficult nights trapped in the pizza parlor with your metallic stalkers. Alongside the animatronics seen in the original Five Nights At Freddy's, the sequel adds "a new cast of characters," and grants players their own faux Freddy Fazbear head that, when worn, will fool the animatronics into thinking you're one of them. Five Nights At Freddy's 2 is currently available on PC at a price of $8. [Image: Scott Cawthon]
Earnest Cavalli11.12.2014All of the nightmares live in Five Nights at Freddy's
We found where the nightmares live. They reside at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, a fictional children's eatery featuring animatronic singing animals that wander the crusty, marinara-stained halls at night. In Five Nights at Freddy's, you're the security guard who must keep the robots at bay each night. You watch the giant animals on a series of security monitors – until your limited power supply cuts out and the lights go dark. Then all of the doors are disabled and you're at the mercy of whatever lurks behind those giant, dead eyes. Yeah. Nightmares. Five Nights at Freddy's was Greenlit via Steam and is now out on PC for $5. One dollar for each night, or for the number of times you'll say "NOPE" and force quit the game. Per minute.
