Jon Fingas10.28.2019HQ Trivia host Scott Rogowsky leaves for a sports show
HQ Trivia has been broadcasting its live game show to mobile devices for about a year and a half now, and usually the events were hosted by "quiz daddy" Scott Rogowsky. He hasn't been on the air for the last few weeks, and as TMZ first reported today, that's because he's parted ways with HQ after taking a new job hosting a baseball show on sports streaming network DAZN. Apparently Rogowsky wanted to continue hosting HQ part-time, however the company declined to keep him on for weekend games. Former guest host Matt Richards is now the regular primetime host, and in a series of tweets Rogowsky called ChangeUp "a dream opportunity that I simply couldn't pass up." A statement provided to TechCrunch said: "We continue to build an incredible company at HQ Trivia, from drawing hundreds of thousands of players to the platform daily, to increasing the size of the prize, to attracting strong talent. We've come a long way since Scott Rogowsky's first trivia game and we're grateful for everything he's done for the platform...e're just getting started at HQ Trivia, and as he makes his next move, wanted to take a minute to thank him for being part of our journey."

Kris Holt11.16.2018After Math: Paying more for less
The rent is too damn high unless you're living in a van down by the river, medical care routinely puts people into bankruptcy, gas prices are still floating around $3 a gallon nationwide and Senator Ted "Zodiac Killer" Cruz is worried that his six figure salary won't enable him to buy a second house anytime soon. Times are tough for everybody so one has to wonder why the companies below are seemingly trying to make things actively worse.

Multiple world champion Canelo Álvarez has signed a staggering 11-fight, five year, $365 million contract with DAZN, a streaming service dedicated to sports. This beats out the previous record holder, Giancarlo Stanton, who signed a 13-year contract with the Miami Marlins for $325 million.
Imad Khan10.18.2018'World's largest' sports streamer makes US debut September 10th
DAZN has become one of the better-known live sports streaming services (it bills itself as the "world's largest"), but you wouldn't know it if you lived in the US. It's only been available in Canada, Japan and a handful of European countries. It's thankfully addressing that omission soon, albeit not quite in the way you'd hope. The company is launching DAZN in the US on September 10th, with your $10 per month initially providing "combat sports" like boxing and mixed martial arts.
