From time to time, these mobile devices are blessed with maintenance refreshes, bug fixes, custom ROMs and anything in between, and so many of them are floating around that it's easy for a sizable chunk to get lost in the mix. To make sure they don't escape without notice, we've gathered every possible update, hack, and other miscellaneous tomfoolery we could find during the last week and crammed them into one convenient roundup. Samsung Galaxy Nexus: Canadians are receiving a bit of love this week, as Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean) is now available for subscribers of Fido, Rogers, Telus, Wind and Virgin. The upgrade is available for over-the-air installation, so make the transition and start bossing around Google Now today! [Android Central]
Sony Xperia S, Xperia Pro and Xperia Mini Pro: Sony announced this week the availability of Ice Cream Sandwich in Canada for this trio of smartphones. The upgrade isn't available over-the-air, however, and must be installed with Sony's PC Companion. [Sony Canada (Facebook)]
Motorola Atrix HD: Software update 77.12.22 is now available as an over-the-air installation for this AT&T smartphone. Among the improvements, users should notice stronger WiFi signal, longer battery life and better camera performance in low light settings. The bundle also includes security fixes, updated AT&T apps and optimizations for both Widevine streaming content and Gameloft games. [Android Police]
Sony Xperia Ion: Rogers Wireless has announced via Twitter that it'll release Ice Cream Sandwich for the Xperia Ion next week. [MobileSyrup]
Samsung Galaxy S III: Verizon Wireless has published an update for this Samsung superphone. The latest software resolves a rare "No SIM" glitch and also resolves NFC tagging issues. Verizon Remote Diagnostics will also be installed, which gives users the ability to grant customer care representatives access to their handset. Additionally, Back Up Assistant will now bring better connectivity and stability. [Droid Life]
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1: Android 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) is now available for Verizon's LTE variant of this tablet. [Android Police]
Unofficial Android updates, custom ROMs and misc. hackery
Samsung Galaxy Nexus: Those who genuinely like to experiment may now play around with the Firefox OS on this otherwise pure Android handset. Absent navigation soft keys, however, the build is rather limited in its functionality. As is, touchscreen input, ADB, WiFi, the home screen, lock screen and Firefox itself are all said to be functional. Sadly, cell service, the camera, screenshots and the navigation buttons remain to be properly implemented. Two separate builds are available for both the HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus, along with the model specific to Verizon. [Phone Arena]
Samsung Galaxy S III: A ported version of Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean) is now available for the Galaxy S III on Verizon, which is based on the recent OS leak for its T-Mobile sibling. Glitches with GPS exist in this build, and users will also need to set the phone's wallpaper through the gallery app, rather than the home screen itself. [Phandroid]
Motorola Xoom: Nightly builds of CyanogenMod 10 are now available for both the Verizon LTE and WiFi versions of this tablet. [Android Central]
