An artificial intelligence company called Banjo has agreement with Utah that gives it real-time access to traffic cameras, CCTV/public safety cameras, 911 systems and other data. Banjo says it can combine all of that with info from social media, apps and satellites to "detect anomalies." Basically, the company claims it can alert law enforcement to a crime while it's happening. It also says the system strips all personal details so it's able to assist without sacrificing privacy. Lawsuits claim Amazon, Apple and more are streaming unlicensed music
When you walk into a bar, hotel or store, you probably hear music. The same goes for when you tune into a TV channel or radio station. Those businesses are supposed to pay royalties to the artists for using their music. Collection firms like Pro Music Rights (PMR) are tasked with monitoring these things. And they've had a lot more work on their hands, now that they need to keep track of streaming services which must properly license the songs they add to their libraries. PMR -- which sued Spotify last year -- alleges that 10 of the biggest services have been streaming unlicensed music from artists the company represents, and has filed lawsuits against each.

Deezer's lossless audio finally comes to Android, iOS and the web
Deezer's lossless audio rollout has been slow, to put it mildly -- it first reached connected speakers in 2014, didn't come to desktop apps until 2017, and has been a no-show elsewhere. It's widely available now, though. The service has launched its HiFi tier on Android, iOS and the web, making FLAC-based tunes available on the move or in your browser. You'll need some high-quality audio gear to do the music justice, but you won't have to be too picky about song choices when over 52 million tracks are available in FLAC. You can still download songs for offline listening.

Deezer reminds everyone it has podcasts with a dedicated section
Deezer wants to remind you that Spotify isn't the only streaming service to include podcasts. It's rolling out a "Shows" tab on iOS (Android and the web are coming later) that's dedicated to podcasts, radio shows and other non-music material. It divides audio into 15 top-level categories like comedy, education and fiction, and you can dive into sub-categories for more specific topics like parenthood. You'll also find podcast recommendations, and you can add any material to your personal library whether or not you're a paying Deezer subscriber.

Deezer's new app is just for Sony 360 Reality Audio
Sony recently announced its immersive 360 Reality Audio format would be launching this fall, with around 1,000 tracks available across multiple platforms. Now, music streaming service Deezer has debuted its 360 offerings, but not as part of its main app. Instead, audiophiles will have to download a stand-alone app to listen to the new format, which could limit its uptake.

Deezer's new app serves up 30,000 radio stations for free
Deezer has unveiled a new app that will give users access to 30,000 radio stations around the world. "Radio by Deezer," only available on Android in the UK for now, offers up music, live sports, news and talk, including stations like BBC Radio, Classic FM and talkSport. All of that is served up without any ads, apart from those on the radio stations themselves.
