  • Samsung's N120 and N310 netbooks get reviewed, embraced

In the mood for a netbook, are we? We've recently been hepped to reviews of two of Sammy's latest, and thought you might wanna take a look. The 10.1-inch, 2.8-pound N120 "isn't the smallest or lightest," according to Liliputing, but it is thin, light, and it does have some of the "best sounding speakers" the reviewer has ever heard on such a beast (though your mileage may vary). Battery life is described as "excellent," and the touchpad? "A step up" from the NC10, apparently. On the other hand, you are going to pay a bit more (like, somewhere near $50 more) than a similarly kitted Eee PC 1000HE. And how about that N310? That depends -- is $479 too much for one of the most "attractive and compact" 10-inchers on the market? For $10 less, Laptop points out, you can get double the battery life in the form of the (admittedly rather rough 'round the edges) Samsung N110. But "if style is at the top of your mobile computing list," the the reviewer continues, this guy is worth a look. And that isn't the half of it -- peep the links below for the full, unexpurgated reviews.Read: Samsung N120 reviewRead: Samsung N310 review

  • Samsung does things backwards, gets official with N110 / N120 netbooks

It's odd, really. Shortly after Samsung's N110 ($469) and N120 ($459) netbooks went on sale and saw reviews, the creating company has at long last come forward with official press shots, specifications and pricing. Not surprisingly, both machines are confirmed as "on sale now," with the pair sporting a 1.6GHz Atom N270, 1GB of DDR2 memory, a 10.1-inch WSVGA display, 160GB hard drive, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, three USB 2.0 sockets and a 1.3 megapixel camera. If you're wondering how the N120 got ten points closer to the top rung, it ups the ante ever-so-slightly with a "2.1-channel" sound system, a six cell Li-ion battery and a 97 percent full-size keyboard.

  • Samsung posts N110 product page, pre-orders get going

Heads-up, netbook lovers -- Sammy's latest is totally official, though it's becoming so after a bona fide review. At any rate, Samsung has just recently hosted up a product page for its 10.1-inch N110, which brags about its 9.5 hour battery life, 2.8 pound body and 93 percent full-size keyboard. Specs wise, it's still rockin' the tried-and-true N270 / 1GB / 160GB combo, which makes it pretty tough to choose over the far less expensive ASUS Eee PC 1000HE. At any rate, those who've somehow found the value proposition to be more enticing can get in line now for $441.99 at Buy.com, while the Samsung-linked CompSource has it listed for $458.Read - Samsung N110 product page [Via Liliputing]Read - Buy.com pre-order [Via PortableMonkey]

  • Samsung's NC10 successor, the N110, announced and reviewed

There's nothing like a little surprise to get the week off on the right foot, so thanks to Samsung for getting us rolling by sneaking a successor to its venerable NC10 netbook straight into the willing hands of Laptop Magazine, where it was stealthily given the full review treatment. From what we can tell this new N110 is mainly a style refresh, offering the same keyboard 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor, memory, and storage of the NC10, as well as the bigger battery and more usable touchpad the company added to the recent special edition -- now clad in a sophisticated, red-rimmed, matte exterior. With battery life topping eight hours in real-world usage, and a price of $469, this one picks up where its predecessor left off and seems like a good choice for those who want a little more style with their netbooking -- or who are too impatient to wait for the NC20.
