Paradigm Shift joins the tablet crowd with Android-based EMT-10AB/W
It's not doing it any favors with its selection of press photos, but Paradigm Shift has just let our word about its new Android-based EMT-10AB/W tablet, which joins the company's recently-announced, equally-nondescript pair of e-book readers. Set to be available in your choice of black or white, this one packs an 800MHz Marvel PX166 processor (slightly faster than the Camangi's), along with a 1,024 x 600 touchscreen (no word if it's capacitive or resistive), 2GB of flash storage standard (upgradable to 16GB), built-in WiFi, VGA out, an SD card slot for further expansion, and even the option of built-in 3G. Look for this one to hit the US sometime this March with an MSRP of $369.95.

CES 2010 January 7th, 2010: Las Vegas, Nevada: Paradigm Shift expands its cutting edge Techno-Gadget Line with its first 10" touch screen, smart / web tablet. running Android OS.
EMT-10AB/W: Leading the trend in small, light weight, portable mobile internet devices (MIDs), Paradigm Shift introduces the EMT-10AB (black finish), and EMT-10AW (white finish) 10" touch-screen smart tablet, running Google's Android 1.5 (user upgradable) operating system. The super thin slate form factor MID is built around Marvel's PX166 800mhz processor and includes a high resolution 1024 x 600 pixel TFT LCD touch screen interface, integrated WIFI transceiver, 1.3mp web cam, SD card memory expansion slot, USB 2.0 host, LAN connector, VGA monitor and HiFi audio output.
Utilizing the Android OS will allow for a virtually limitless well of user loadable applications and easy customization of the operating system.
Standard model MSRP is $369.95, and additional cost options include built in 3G wireless data/voice modem, upgrade from standard 2GB to 4GB/8GB or 16GB internal flash storage memory, docking base and case colors.
The EMT-10AB/W slated to enter mass production in March 2010, and will be available through major retailers in the USA, distributed by Delstar Electronics of Hallandale, Florida, and negotiations are in place with mobile phone carriers in South America.
